The 27th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Seminar and Investment Promotion Conference (referred to as the Beijing-Hong Kong Negotiation Conference) held a special event for the docking of the industrial chain and supply chain between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on September 21st in Beijing. This is the first time that the Beijing-Hong Kong Negotiation Conference has set up a regional dialogue and cooperation activity between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At the event, enterprises from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area signed 10 cooperation projects, with an estimated investment amount of 2.36 billion yuan, involving multiple fields such as science and technology innovation, enterprise services, new energy, biomedicine, big data, and artificial intelligence.

Wu Jiliang, Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal Government, expressed in his speech that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are among the most economically dynamic, highest degree of openness, and strongest innovation capabilities in China, with a very strong industrial foundation. He looks forward to entrepreneurs actively participating in the construction of industrial chain clusters such as the demonstration city cluster of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the coordinated development demonstration zone of the industrial internet in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the life health industry cluster in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and finding business opportunities and win-win sharing in the promotion of major tasks such as Beijing’s global digital economy benchmark city, international consumer center city, dual hub, and airport economic zone.

Lau Kai-hin, Commissioner of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Investment Promotion Department, expressed in his speech that currently, the country is promoting high-level opening up to the outside world, as well as implementing national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As an international financial, trade, shipping, and aviation hub, Hong Kong can provide comprehensive and high-quality professional services to enterprises. In response to the trend of the mainland’s industrial chain extending overseas, the HKSAR Government is actively building Hong Kong into a multinational supply chain management center to assist mainland enterprises in going global. It hopes to attract more mainland manufacturing enterprises to use Hong Kong as a base to manage the operation processes of multinational supply chains, including raw material procurement, transportation, sales, etc.

During the event, the first batch of 11 Meeting Rooms for Cooperation between Enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was released. The meeting rooms are jointly established by the Entrepreneurs Alliance of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and the Entrepreneurs Alliance of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Relying on key enterprises and institutions in the two major regions, they will strengthen mutual visits and exchanges between enterprises through regular activities such as city meeting rooms and seminars, while establishing an efficient project docking mechanism, regularly releasing demand lists, and promoting in-depth cooperation between enterprises in fields such as industrial upgrading, science and technology innovation, and market development, jointly creating a number of demonstration cooperation projects.
