Zhengzhou Metro Line 7 Phase 1 Nears Completion, Expected to Openby Year’s End
Zhengzhou, China, September 5,2024 – Zhengzhou Metro Line 7 Phase 1, a crucial addition to the city’s transportation network, is steadily progressing towardsits anticipated opening by the end of the year. The project achieved a significant milestone today with the successful completion of the contact wire hot sliding test.
The test, conducted under energized conditions, involved running an electric passenger train to evaluate the current flow between the pantograph and the contact wire. This crucial step serves as a comprehensive inspection of the traction power supply system’s overall functionality.
Line7 Phase 1, a north-south corridor designed to enhance connectivity within Zhengzhou’s central urban area, stretches from Dongzhao Station in the north to Nangangliu Station in the south. The line traverses key thoroughfares includingWenhua Road, Youshengnan Road, Jinshui Road, and Daxue Road, encompassing a total of 20 underground stations.
The line’s strategic importance is further highlighted by its eight interchange stations, providing seamless connections to Lines 1, 2, 3, 4,5, and 10, as well as the under-construction Line 6 Phase 1 Northeast Section and Line 8.
The trains operating on Line 7 Phase 1 will be composed of six A-type carriages, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
The successful completion of the contact wire hot sliding test signifies a major step forward for the project, paving the way for the commencement of dynamic train commissioning and trial operations.
