Dalian Implements Traffic Restrictions for World Cup Qualifiers
Dalian, China – The Dalian City Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment has announced temporarytraffic restrictions around the Dalian Soccer Stadium in preparation for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers third stage match between the Chinese national team andSaudi Arabia. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time.
The traffic restrictions are aimed at ensuring the safety and order of traffic during the match. According to Article 39 of the People’s Republic of China Road Traffic Safety Law, the following traffic restrictions will be implemented:
From9:00 AM to 12:00 AM on September 10, 2024:
- Parking Restrictions: Vehicles will be prohibited from parking on both sides of the following roads:

Wanjing Street, from Hemei Street to Gongxiang Street (east side)
- Wan Ding Road, from Gongxiang Street to Road No. 13
- Gongxiang Street, from Wanjing Street to Wan Ding Road
- Pinbo Street, from Wanjing Street to WanHong Street
- Hefeng Road, from Wan Ding Road to Wanjing Street

Traffic Restrictions: From 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM on the same day, all vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the above-mentioned roads (excluding Hefeng Road).
From8:00 PM to 12:00 AM on September 10, 2024:
- Traffic Restrictions: All vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the following roads:
- Wan Hong Street, from Pinbo Street to Gongxiang Street
- Fenjin Street, from Wan Ding Road to Wan Hong Street
Other Restrictions:
- Hemei Street, from Wanjing Street to Wan Ding Road, will be converted into a one-way street from south to north, depending on the situation.
- Spectators are advised to park their vehicles on both sides of Wan DingRoad, from Hefeng Road to Gongxiang Street, and on roads north of Wan Ding Road in the Solyuwan area. However, due to limited parking resources, spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.
- The traffic police department will adjust the restriction time and scope based on the situation. Vehicles andpedestrians should follow the traffic signs and police instructions at the scene.
- Local businesses and residents are urged to plan their travel arrangements in advance.
Access to the Solyuwan area during the match:
Spectators can access the Solyuwan area via the following routes:
- DongkuaiRoad
- Wan Ding Road
- Hefeng Road
- Wanjing Street (west of Hefeng Road)
- Dalian Bay Underwater Tunnel
The announcement comes after the Chinese national team suffered a humiliating 0-7 defeat to Japan in their previous World Cup qualifier match. The upcoming match against Saudi Arabia iscrucial for China’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
The Dalian City Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment has urged all drivers and pedestrians to cooperate with the traffic restrictions and ensure a safe and smooth journey for everyone.
