Swimming Advisory Lifted at Reiswig Park in Lake Country

Lake Country,BC – The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) haslifted the swimming advisory for Reiswig Regional Park on Wood Lake, effective immediately. The advisory had been in place since August 2nd due to elevated levels ofbacteria in the water.

The RDCO regularly collects water samples from various regional beaches and submits them to Interior Health for testing and analysis. Water qualitycan fluctuate due to factors such as currents, runoff, creek outflow, changing environmental conditions, and animal waste. Summer months often see poorer water quality due to warmer temperatures and increased swimming activity.

The lifting of the advisory indicates thatwater quality at Reiswig Park has returned to safe levels for swimming. The RDCO will continue to monitor water quality at all regional beaches and will issue advisories if necessary.

For more information about beach water quality, pleasevisit the RDCO website or contact Interior Health.
