Milan and Roma Secure Last 16 Berths in EuropaLeague
AC Milan advanced to the Europa League last 16 despite a 3-2 loss to Rennes. Benjamin Bourigeaud scored a hat-trick for Rennes, but goals from Luka Jovic and Rafael Leao ensured Milan’s progression after their 3-0 home leg victory.
Roma also secured their place in the next round, overcoming Feyenoord on penalties after a 1-1 draw in both legs. Lorenzo Pellegrini cancelled out Santiago Gimenez’s early opener to send the game to extra-time and penalties.Romelu Lukaku missed his spot kick, but Nikola Zalewski scored the winning penalty for Roma.
Benfica, Sporting, and Marseille Also Advance in Europa League

Galatasaray, Freiburg, and Qarabag Advance in Europa Conference League
Galatasaray’s collapseaway to Sparta Prague saw them eliminated from the competition. Kaan Ahyan’s red card in the 70th minute proved pivotal as Sparta overcame last week’s defeat with a 4-1 victory.
Freiburg moved into the last 16 thanks to an extra-time victory athome to Lens. Roland Sallai’s stoppage-time strike forced extra time, and Michael Gregoritsch scored the decisive goal in the 99th minute.
Qarabag overcame Braga in a dramatic encounter in Baku. The hosts held a two-goal lead from the first leg, but goals from RogerFernandes and Alvaro Djalo took the game into extra-time. Matheus Silva’s goal for Qarabag was cancelled out by Simon Banza’s 115th-minute penalty. Neriman Axundzade scored a 122nd-minute goal to secure a 6-5 aggregatevictory for Qarabag.
Ajax Advance in Europa Conference League, Frankfurt Eliminated
Ajax advanced to the last 16 of the Europa Conference League after a late extra-time winner from Kenneth Taylor. Josip Sutalo was sent off for Ajax, and Bodo/Glimt’s Albert Gronbaek was also dismissed in the second half. Patrick Berg’s late goal took the game to extra-time, but Taylor’s winner settled the tie in Ajax’s favor.
This marks the end of Frankfurt’s European campaign after their disappointing elimination.
