Kuaishou Reports Strong Growth in Creators and Revenue, AI Tools FuelingContent Creation
Beijing, August 27, 2024 – Kuaishou, China’s leading short-video platform, announced strong growth in both creators and revenue at its annual Guanghe Creator Conference today. The company reported a 14% year-over-year increase in creators earning over 10,000 yuan per month, with atotal of 23 million creators generating income on the platform over the past year.
The news comes as Kuaishou continues to solidify its position as a major player in China’s burgeoning short-video market. The platform’s daily active users (DAU) reached nearly 400 million in the first half of 2024, while total user time spent on the platform increased by nearly 10% year-over-year.Daily video views (VV) also saw a significant increase, growing by 12.4% year-over-year.
AI-Powered Content Creation Driving Growth
Kuaishou’s success is being fueled in part by its growing investment in artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The company’s video generation AI model, Keling AI, has been adopted by over 1.6 million users, generating over 16 million videos and 25 million images to date. This demonstrates the growing importance of AI in empowering creators to produce high-quality content efficiently.

In the first quarter of 2024, short-video influencer-driven GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume) doubled year-over-year, while GMV from image-based e-commerce sawa 19-fold increase. The platform’s second-creation (re-editing) feature, which allows users to create new content from existing videos, also saw significant growth, with GMV increasing sixfold between July 2023 and January 2024.
