Xi’an, an ancient capital city spanning thousands of years, attracts tourists from all overthe world with its profound cultural heritage and unique charm. This summer, Estefania Munoz, a student from Mexico studying at Northwestern Polytechnical University, chose Xi’an as her starting point to explore Chinese culture.
“Wearing Hanfu and strolling through the ancient city of Xi’an is like traveling throughtime.” Estefania shared her experience on social media. The first time she put on Hanfu and stepped under the Bell Tower, the elegance and charm of the culture enveloped her instantly, as if every step she took was in rhythm with history, traversing through millennia. She carefully selected a Hanfu she loved andapplied ancient makeup, striving for a perfect presentation of Hanfu’s splendor. “The comfort and simplicity of Tang Dynasty attire made me deeply realize that beauty lies not just in physical size, but in the composure and confidence it embodies.”
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, with its twinkling lights and bustling crowds, attracts visitors from all over the world, all experiencing the charm of this city. Dressed in Hanfu, Estefania blended into the lively scene, truly feeling as if she were in ancient China. She also spontaneously invited tourists from different places to participate in a small game – guessing Xi’an landmarks from pictures.Laughter and cheers filled the air as they shared their memories of the city, making her Hanfu experience even richer and more colorful.
“Xi’an, this ancient yet vibrant city, has shown me the charm and glory of Chinese civilization in its own unique way.” Estefania said that her trip toXi’an not only allowed her to experience the depth and breadth of Chinese culture, but also helped her find her own classical sentiment within this ancient city.
Estefania’s experience is just a glimpse into the “China Travel” experiences of many Gen Z tourists. They are using their own perspectives to recordChina’s development, experience the warmth of the Chinese people, and showcase the real China to the world in their own unique ways.
