News Content: The grand opening of the Beijing Yunju Temple Cultural History Exhibition took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, offering a precious Chinese Buddhist cultural feast to local residents and tourists. The exhibition, jointly organized by the Wisdom and Goodness International Charity Foundation, the Sinophile Art and Culture Development Association, and the Beijing Fangshan Yunju Temple Stone Sutra Museum, in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Cultural Center and the Purple藤 Group, runs from July 26 to August 10.

Yunju Temple, located in the southwestern part of Beijing, attracts the attention of tourists from home and abroad due to its long history and rich cultural connotations. As one of China’s Buddhist cultural treasures, Yunju Temple is renowned for its 14,278 stone-carved Buddhist scriptures. This exhibition features 43 precious artifacts, including stone tablets, original prints, Dragon Sutra wooden boards, and paper scriptures, providing a comprehensive view of the temple’s founding process, carving history, collection treasures, and cultural research and protection work.

The exhibition not only offers a diverse range of forms but also includes an interactive experience zone, allowing visitors to enjoy the fun of printing the Dragon Sutra wooden boards and the Yunju Temple’s mascot, “line-carved flying elephants”. Through VR technology, visitors can also “visit” the origin site of the Fangshan stone scriptures – Leiyin Cave, experiencing the mystery and solemnity of the thousand-year-old temple.

This exhibition marks another significant milestone for Yunju Temple’s cultural outreach to the international community. Following its successful run in Hong Kong in April, the exhibition will tour Singapore, Japan, and other countries, further showcasing China’s commitment to the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage, and promoting Chinese culture. The Director of the Department of International Cooperation at Malaysia’s Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry, Yang Qianying, hosted the opening ceremony, with guests such as Director of the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Cultural Center, Zhang Jixin, in attendance.

The holding of the Beijing Yunju Temple Cultural History Exhibition in Malaysia not only deepens and broadens cultural exchanges between the two countries but also provides Malaysian citizens with a valuable opportunity to delve into Chinese Buddhist culture and appreciate the charm of a thousand-year-old temple. This exhibition’s organization is expected to infuse new vitality into cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Malaysia, further promoting friendly relations between the two peoples.
