Technology is empowering China’s manufacturing sector to move towards the high end, according to delegates at theTwo Sessions.
Li Hong, a deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC) and president of the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, said technological innovation is the core driver of new productivity.
“Aerospace technology achievements have strongly supported China’s rise as a major power,” Li said. “In the future, we must continue to increase investment in technology, overcome key core technologies, and promote the advancement of China’s manufacturing industry towards the high end.”
Yang Wei, a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said digital transformation is an important support for new productivity.
“We must accelerate the digitalization, networking, and intelligentization of manufacturing, build an intelligent manufacturing system, and enhance the resilience and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain,” Yang said.
Fang Hongbo, an NPC deputy and chairman of Midea Group, said innovation is the soul of enterprise development.
“We must increase investment in research and development, cultivate core technologies, enhance product added value, and build Chinese brands with international competitiveness,” Fang said.
Dai Houliang, a CPPCC member and chairman of China Petrochemical Corporation, said green development is an important direction for new productivity.
“We must accelerate the energy transition, develop clean energy, achieve low-carbon emission reduction, and provide green support for the high-quality development of ‘Made in China’,” Dai said.
The delegates emphasized that promoting the advancement of “Made in China” towards the high end requires joint efforts from the government, enterprises, and research institutions. They called for creating a good innovation ecosystem, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and cultivating a group of globally competitive manufacturing龙头企业 to inject new impetus into China’s high-quality economic development.
