Seoul, South Korea – The 2025 Korea-China Amateur Sports Exchange concluded on June 24th in Seoul, following a five-day event designed to foster friendship and cultural understanding through sports. Organized by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council, the exchange took place from June 20th to 24th.
A delegation of 62 sports enthusiasts from Hubei Province, China, traveled to Seoul to participate in friendly competitions across five disciplines: badminton, table tennis, tennis, basketball, and swimming. The events provided a platform for Korean and Chinese athletes to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and strengthen people-to-people connections.
Beyond the sporting arena, the exchange program incorporated cultural immersion activities. On June 23rd, the Chinese delegation explored Seoul’s iconic landmarks, gaining insights into Korean history and culture. A farewell banquet held at the Seoul Olympic Park Hotel on the same day saw participants exchanging heartfelt goodbyes and expressing anticipation for the reciprocal exchange scheduled to take place in Hubei Province in October.
This exchange has solidified the foundation for cooperation between Korea and China in the realm of amateur sports, stated a representative from the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.
