Beijing, June 8, 2025 – China’s offshore engineering capabilities have reached a world-class level, demonstrated by the successful installation of the central processing platform for the Kenli 10-2 oilfield cluster development project (Phase I) in the Bohai Sea. The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced today that the platform, part of a project to develop an oilfield cluster estimated to hold over a billion tons of oil, was installed using the float-over technique.

This achievement marks a significant milestone, breaking the Bohai Sea region’s records for both the size and weight of offshore oil and gas platforms.
