Busan, South Korea – The Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on May 28th that its representatives attended the 9th Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China, from May 26th to 27th. The forum highlights the ongoing collaboration and economic ties between South Korea and China in the crucial maritime sector.

The forum, co-hosted by the Ningbo Municipal Government and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transportation, was organized by Zhejiang Seaport Group and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group. This year’s theme, Green Sharing, Smart Interconnection, underscores the growing emphasis on sustainable and technologically advanced port operations within the Maritime Silk Road initiative.

During the forum, the BPA representative showcased Busan Port’s automated terminal operation model, digital logistics system, and green port policies. These presentations highlighted Busan’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in port management. The representative also participated in the 2025 Maritime Silk Road Port and Shipping High-Level Roundtable, contributing insights and suggestions related to digital transformation, carbon neutrality, and global port cooperation.

The Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration and sharing best practices among ports along the Maritime Silk Road. Busan Port’s active participation in this forum underscores its commitment to strengthening its position as a key player in global maritime trade and promoting sustainable and innovative port development.
