Beijing, June 1st (Xinhua) – China is experiencing a surge in cross-regional travel during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. On June 1st, the second day of the holiday, the Ministry of Transport of China estimates that the total number of cross-regional trips reached 212.64 million.
This figure represents a 7.9% decrease compared to the first day of the holiday but marks a 6.2% increase compared to the second day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in the previous year.
Railway passenger traffic is expected to reach 11.8 million trips, a 34% decrease compared to the first day.
