Colombo, Sri Lanka – A Sri Lankan Air Force helicopter crashed into a reservoir in the central part of the country on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to six others, according to reports from Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The incident, which occurred on May 9th, involved a Bell 212 helicopter that was participating in a flight demonstration as part of a graduation ceremony. The ceremony was subsequently called off following the tragic event.
According to a Sri Lankan Air Force official, there were a total of 12 people on board the aircraft. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
