Seoul, South Korea – JD Logistics, a subsidiary of China’s e-commerce giant JD.com, announced on April 24th the establishment of self-operated logistics centers in Incheon and Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, marking the full-scale launch of its localized supply chain logistics services.
This move signifies JD Logistics’ commitment to expanding its global footprint and providing comprehensive logistics solutions to businesses operating within the South Korean market. The company aims to leverage its advanced technology and extensive experience in supply chain management to offer efficient and reliable services to local enterprises.
JD Logistics plans to provide third-party logistics and supply chain services to South Korean companies, covering Seoul and parts of the metropolitan area, with the goal of achieving delivery fulfillment within 12 hours.
The Icheon logistics center is already providing services to a local pet e-commerce company. The warehouse is equipped with automated packaging machines, diverters, and other automated equipment, and uses batch storage and systematic picking instructions to significantly improve operational efficiency. To help customers cope with fulfillment fluctuations, JD Logistics quickly built an alternative logistics system within a month to achieve a smooth transition.
The Incheon center will serve as a dedicated export warehouse, providing services to American consumer brands and South Korean beauty companies.
This expansion into South Korea demonstrates JD Logistics’ confidence in the country’s growing e-commerce market and its desire to become a key player in the region’s logistics landscape. By offering tailored solutions and leveraging its technological prowess, JD Logistics aims to empower local businesses and contribute to the overall efficiency of the South Korean supply chain.
