Seoul, South Korea – April 9, 2024 – JYP Entertainment, one of South Korea’s leading entertainment agencies, announced today a donation of ₩300 million (approximately ¥1.5 million or $220,000 USD) to aid victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Myanmar. The donation was made through the international children’s charity, World Vision.
The funds will be used to provide crucial aid to the areas most affected by the powerful earthquake, including the provision of food, essential supplies, clean drinking water, and medical assistance for children.
JYP Entertainment extends its deepest condolences to the victims of the earthquake and offers sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and those who have lost their homes and livelihoods, the company stated in a press release. We sincerely hope that the children and families affected by this disaster can return to their daily lives and regain their health as quickly as possible.
The earthquake, which struck central Myanmar on March 28th, registered a magnitude of 7.7 and has tragically resulted in over 3,600 fatalities. The disaster has left countless individuals displaced and in desperate need of assistance.
