Shenzhen, China – March 11, 2024 – Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Leapmotor has announced a record-breaking pre-sale performance for its new B10 SUV. Within just one hour of launch, the B10 garnered over 15,010 orders, marking the most successful product launch in the company’s history, according to Leapmotor founder Zhu Jiangming.
The B10, officially launched for pre-sale on March 10th with a price range of RMB 109,800 to RMB 139,800 (approximately $15,300 to $19,500 USD), is positioned as a highly competitive offering in the burgeoning Chinese EV market. A key selling point is the inclusion of intelligent driving (智驾) features as standard across all models.
Notably, the RMB 129,800 (approximately $18,100 USD) 510 Zhijia version boasts advanced autonomous driving capabilities powered by LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology. This aggressive pricing strategy significantly undercuts the price point for LiDAR-equipped autonomous vehicles in China, potentially disrupting the market and making advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) more accessible to a wider consumer base.
Beyond its competitive pricing and LiDAR integration, the Leapmotor B10 is equipped with a suite of intelligent features. The interior features a floating instrument panel and a 14.6-inch 2K central control screen. The base model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, while higher-end configurations utilize the flagship Snapdragon 8295 chip, running on the Leapmotor OS 4.0 Plus operating system. The in-car system is integrated with Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen and DeepSeek large language models, enabling advanced AI voice control with precise command understanding and execution of vehicle control functions.
The B10’s commitment to intelligent driving extends beyond the infotainment system. All models are equipped with automatic parking capabilities. The LiDAR-equipped versions support end-to-end large model intelligent driving, enabling highway and urban autonomous navigation assistance.
Designed as a family-friendly SUV, the Leapmotor B10 prioritizes comfort and practicality. The front passenger seats can recline 180 degrees, and the vehicle offers 22 storage compartments throughout the cabin. With the rear seats folded down, the cargo space expands to a generous 1415 liters, catering to the needs of families requiring ample storage.
In terms of performance, the Leapmotor B10 is equipped with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive system. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) is achieved in as little as 6.8 seconds. The B10 offers two range options: 510 km (317 miles) and 600 km (373 miles), based on the CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) standard.
The Leapmotor B10’s impressive pre-sale figures underscore the growing demand for affordable, technologically advanced EVs in China.
