Seoul, South Korea – February 27, 2025 – ILLIT, the rising South Korean girl group, has achieved a significant milestone with their debut song Magnetic, earning double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in the streaming category. This announcement was made today by their agency, BELIFT LAB.

Magnetic, the title track from ILLIT’s first mini-album released in March of last year, has captivated listeners and achieved remarkable success in the Japanese market. As of January, the song has surpassed 200 million cumulative streams in Japan, solidifying ILLIT’s position as a force to be reckoned with in the global music scene.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it marks the shortest time frame for a girl group to attain double platinum certification in Japan. The RIAJ awards certifications based on cumulative streams, with gold certification awarded for over 50 million streams, platinum for over 100 million streams, and diamond for over 500 million streams.

ILLIT’s rapid ascent and the widespread popularity of Magnetic underscore the growing influence of K-pop and its ability to resonate with audiences across borders. The group’s success in Japan, a major music market, is a testament to their talent, the song’s catchy melody, and the effective promotional strategies employed by BELIFT LAB.

This double platinum certification is not only a significant accomplishment for ILLIT but also a promising sign for their future endeavors. As they continue to release new music and engage with fans worldwide, ILLIT is poised to further solidify their place as one of the leading girl groups in the K-pop industry.
