South Korea Added to China’s Visa-Free Entry List, Boosting TourismProspects
Beijing, November 1, 2024 -South Korea has been added to China’s visa-free entry list, a move that is expected to significantly boost tourism between the two countries. Starting November 8th, 2024, South Korean citizens holding ordinary passports will be able to enter China without a visa for stays of up to 15 days.This policy will remain in effect until December 31st, 2025.
This marks the first time South Korea has been included in China’s visa-free program. The decision was announced by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairson November 1st, as part of broader efforts to facilitate international travel and strengthen people-to-people exchanges.
In addition to South Korea, the visa-free policy will also apply to citizens of Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark,Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, all holding ordinary passports. The policy aims to encourage business, tourism, family visits, and transit travel.
We’ve heard a lot about how Chinese authorities are interested in attracting more Korean tourists to destinations like Zhangjiajie, said a South Korean tourism industry representative. Thisnew visa-free policy will make it much easier for Koreans to travel to China, and we expect to see a significant increase in the number of Korean visitors in the coming months.
The move comes at a time of growing economic and cultural ties between China and South Korea. The visa-free policy is seen as apositive step towards further strengthening these relationships and promoting mutual understanding.
