Chongqing, China – The development of integrated vehicle-road-cloud(VRC) systems is a complex undertaking, requiring a comprehensive approach to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. This was the consensus among experts gathered at a recentforum in Chongqing, China, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities presented by this emerging technology.
VRC systems combine the characteristics of information logistics systemsand complex large-scale systems, presenting unique challenges, stated Professor Li Keqiang, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Tsinghua University. The industry currently lacks a complete system architecture, and the collaborative mechanisms are not well-defined.
Professor Li emphasized the urgent need for a unified design framework to guide the development of VRC systems. He highlighted the importance of addressing key issues such as data security, system reliability, and interoperability.
Other experts echoed Professor Li’sconcerns, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach that considers the entire ecosystem, from vehicle design to infrastructure development and cloud computing. They also stressed the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders, including automakers, technology companies, and government agencies.
The success of VRC systems depends on a collaborative effort, said Dr. ZhangWei, a leading researcher in intelligent transportation systems. We need to break down silos and work together to develop standards, share data, and create a unified platform.
The forum also saw the presentation of several innovative solutions and technologies aimed at advancing VRC development. These included advanced sensor technologies, high-performance computing platforms, andintelligent traffic management systems.
