Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 Series Lineup Unveiled: More Than One Flagship Chipin the Works

Qualcomm is set to shake up the mobile processor landscape with itsupcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen4 series, featuring not just one but two flagship chips. This ambitious move signals a significant shift in the company’s strategy, aiming tocater to a wider range of high-end devices and offer greater flexibility for smartphone manufacturers.

According to renowned tipster Yogesh Brar, the Snapdragon 8 Gen4, codenamed SM8750, is slated to launch in Q4 of this year. Following closely behind in Q1 2025 will be the Snapdragon 8s Gen4, codenamed SM8735. Brar also suggests that Qualcomm should stick to its current naming scheme, dismissing recent rumors of a potential rebranding to Snapdragon 8 Elite for the flagship model.

This dual-chip approach marks a departure fromQualcomm’s previous strategy of releasing a single flagship processor each year. The Snapdragon 8s Gen4, positioned as a slightly less powerful but still high-performance option, could potentially cater to devices with more moderate power requirements or those seeking a more budget-friendly alternative.

A New Era of Performance with Oryon CPUArchitecture

One of the most significant changes in the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 series is the introduction of Qualcomm’s proprietary Oryon CPU architecture. This marks a departure from the company’s reliance on Arm’s public designs, signifying a commitment to developing its own cutting-edge processor technology.
