Seoul, July 21 (Yonhap) — Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya has conveyed his condolences to South Korea following the recent devastating floods, according to the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on July 21.

Iwaya stated that he was deeply saddened to learn of the casualties and property damage caused by the heavy rains in South Korea. He expressed his sincere condolences to the victims and their families, hoping for a swift return to normalcy for those affected and the safe rescue of those still missing.

From July 16 to 9 p.m. on July 20, heavy rainfall across South Korea resulted in 18 deaths and 9 missing persons.
