Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy Leaked Benchmarks Show Impressive PerformanceGains

San Diego, CA – September 25, 2024 – Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, has been making waves in the tech world evenbefore its official release. Recent leaks of benchmark scores reveal a significant performance boost compared to its predecessor, hinting at a powerful mobile experience for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series.

The Geekbench scores, shared by IT Home, show the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, also known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Leading Edition, achieving a single-core score of 3011 and a multi-core score of 9706. This impressive performance is attributed to the processor’s upgraded CPU, featuring a higher clock speed for its large cores.

The leaked specifications indicate that the Snapdragon8 Gen 4 for Galaxy utilizes a 3nm fabrication process from TSMC. Its CPU architecture boasts two 4.47GHz Oryon large cores and six 3.53GHz Oryon large cores. This configuration is a notable improvement over the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which featurestwo 4.32GHz cores and six 3.53GHz cores. The GPU, an Adreno 850, operates at 1.3GHz.

This performance leap puts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy ahead of its competitors, including the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, which also utilizes a 3nm fabrication process. The Dimensity 9400 boasts a 1x 3.63GHz Cortex-X925 core, three 3.3GHz Cortex-X925 cores, and four 2.4GHz Cortex-A725 cores, coupled with an Immortalis-G925 12-core GPU. While the Dimensity 9400 delivers a respectable single-core score of 2876 and a multi-core score of 8987, it falls short of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4for Galaxy’s performance.

Even compared to Apple’s latest processors, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy shows promise. The A18 Pro and A18 processors, with their 2+4 core architecture, reach a maximum clock speed of 4.04GHz. However, the Snapdragon8 Gen 4 for Galaxy’s higher clock speeds and optimized core configuration suggest a competitive edge in terms of raw processing power.

While benchmark scores provide a glimpse into the potential performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, real-world performance will ultimately determine its success. The processor’s efficiency, power consumption, and thermal management will play crucial roles in delivering a smooth and responsive user experience.

Qualcomm is set to officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 at its Snapdragon Summit 2024, scheduled for October 21st. This event will provide a platform for the company to showcasethe processor’s capabilities and highlight its key features. The launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy is expected to be a major event in the mobile technology landscape, potentially setting the stage for a new era of performance and innovation in the Android ecosystem.
