Seoul, South Korea – The 2025 South Korea-China Amateur Sports Exchange concluded on June 24th in Seoul, following a five-day event aimed at fostering friendship and collaboration between the two nations through sports. The event, hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council, took place from June 20th to 24th.
A delegation of 62 sports enthusiasts from Hubei Province, China, traveled to Seoul to participate in friendly competitions across five sports: badminton, table tennis, tennis, basketball, and swimming. These matches provided a platform for Korean and Chinese participants to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and deepen their understanding of each other’s cultures.
The Chinese delegation engaged in competitive matches on June 21st and 22nd. Beyond the sporting arena, the delegation also had the opportunity to explore Seoul’s iconic landmarks on June 23rd, immersing themselves in the rich history and vibrant culture of South Korea.
A farewell banquet was held on June 23rd at the Seoul Olympic Park Hotel, where participants exchanged heartfelt goodbyes and expressed their anticipation for the reciprocal exchange event scheduled to take place in Hubei Province in October.
The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee stated that this exchange program has further solidified the foundation for cooperation between South Korea and China in the realm of amateur sports. The event underscores the power of sports in bridging cultural gaps and promoting international understanding.
